The use of ceramic materials in high temperature engineering
i.e. at a temperature above 1000 °C has a long tradition.
However the application potential of technical ceramic is
by no means exhausted. Modern processing technology demands
corrosion and wear resistant material for use at even higher
temperatures, in order to improve efficiency and to save energy.
Ceramic materials contribute to this considerably.
