5.3.3 Strength
The figure for the strength of ceramic
materials, 
[MPa] is statistically distributed depending
on the material composition, the grain size of the initial
material and the additives, the production conditions and
on the manufacturing process. According to the weakest
link model, the defect distribution and what is termed
the critical defect decide the reliability of the part. For
this reason the scatter between batches can be greater than
within one batch.
